How it works

How Just OpenSource works and how you can utilize it.

Just OpenSource serves as a platform where you can discover and explore open source tools, while also providing an opportunity to showcase your own open source tools. Through our challenge system, you can either find contributors for your projects or participate in other open source initiatives, fostering a collaborative development community.

Launch your open source tool

You can launch your open source tool by filling one simple form. If your tool meets our guidelines, it will be published on our platform for others to discover and use.

We divide tool listing into 4 categories: New, Popular, Editorial Picks and Contribute. Popular tools are those with most stars on Github, Editorial Picks are those which we think are worth checking out, New tools are those which have been added recently and Contribute tools are those which looking for contributors.

Tool of the week

Every week we feature a tool that stands out from the crowd. This is a great opportunity to discover new tools and get inspired by what others are building. Criteria for selection include innovation, utility and engagement on our platform based on impressions and clicks.

Challenges

Challenges are a way to find contributors for your open source projects or to contribute to other open source projects. You can create a challenge by filling out a form, and it will be published on our platform for others to see. You can also browse existing challenges and contribute to them.

When you take up any challenge you need to define a reasonable timeline for the same and within that timeline you need to complete the challenge and submit Pull Request. Based on your Pull Request status the challenge will be completed or rejected. If the challenge is completed, you will be awarded 100 points and your contribution will be recognized on our platform.

Leaderboard

The leaderboard showcases the top contributors on our platform. You can earn points by completing challenges, and your position on the leaderboard will be determined by the number of points you have earned. This is a great way to get recognized for your contributions and see how you stack up against others in the community.

Achiever of the week

The Achiever of the Week is a special recognition for the top contributor on our platform who has earned the most points in the past week by completing challenges. Their profile will be featured on our homepage.
